I just learned of Tom's passing, and share in his loss greatly. I always had a bright day when he and Frances came to clinic. I do believe Tom was the kindest man I ever met. When I retired, I knew that I would always have certain patients and families that I would think back on as special friends in life who made it all worth it, and Tom was one of those people.
I was blessed the day he walked into my clinic and he and Frances will never leave my memories.

Tom was an amazing man. I knew him as a person writing his life stories to pass along to his family. He was n several of my writing courses with OLLI/Univ of AR and was so dedicated to his family and his writing. He will be missed.
We have such fond memories of Tom. Bill joined Tom and other UA professors as they held panel discussions around Arkansas. Our daughter participated in a wonderful summer study-abroad program in Costa Rica. Tom held the group together. Tom was a fine teacher, colleague, and friend. We were fortunate to know Tom.

I have known Tom for 35+ years through economic education. I worked with him several times in Eastern Europe and the U.K. He was a kind and thoughtful man. I always enjoyed being around him and working with him. I am saddened by his loss, and your family is in my thoughts.

Dr McKinnon was my professor for graduate level economic history. He was a great instructor. But, mostly he was a kind man. I followed him teaching "Teachers in Training." Dr McKinnon was a legend but needed a semester off. He was a great mentor when I taught the class he had basically created. His kindness meant so much to a young educator.

Tom was a dear friend and an outstanding educator. I enjoyed many special moments with Tom at various economic education conferences over the past 35 years. His smile and laughter lit the room and made everyone feel welcome. I feel blessed to have known this wonderful man.
Tom always illuminated the room and helped others to raise their expectations and deeds. He has been a long-time colleague and collaborator, friend and fellow hiker. TMcK helped to bring out the best in people. Like so many others, I'll miss his sweet presence but know that I'm a better person because of his guiding light. His family and friends have been fortunate to enjoy his company. Love - David.
Sincere condolences to the family. So sorry to learn of Dr. McKinnon's passing. He was a true gentleman and it was a pleasure working with him for the 25+ years that I worked at the Walton College.
