It was only a snow/ice storm that kept me from my weekly visits with Tim and like all of those who knew and loved him, am deeply saddened by his passing. To Judy and all of the family, Mary and I continue to keep you in our prayers as we all grieve his passing and celebrate a life so well lived. In the last year or so, I had the privilege of getting to know Tim and spend some time with him that was impactful and really rewarding for me personally. Tim was so knowledgeable and interesting that our hours long conversations would go anywhere and cover anything from combat stories to homelessness and our joint love for reading and a close following of the stock market. A lover of life and family, Tim appreciated everything and everyone up to those last days that we spent together. The sharpest of insights and the ability to dissect the complicated, Tim always peppered our convos with humor and laughter and I would always walk out of his room feeling better than when I walked in. I might have been carrying some burden before our talks but it was likely gone and redirected by some new insight or thought by the end that had me feeling better and while it was no intention on his part, he just always seem to have the knack of saying the right thing or laughing with me about something that it would be gone and I was moving on to something else. As a supporter of New Beginnings and our work in the community, Tim was always asking questions, digging into the heart of what matters, and thoughtfully asking about what we needed and how could he and Judy help. With grit, determination, grace, and a heartfelt desire to get back to life at BTV as he originally envisioned it, Tim’s last few months were inspiring and remarkable. I will miss him, but celebrate his life and legacy as a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, soldier, servant, and community member. Godspeed and RIP brother!
