Thompson B. Webb's Obituary
Thompson B. Webb Jr., 83, of Fayetteville died at his home with his family on Friday, December 19, 2003. He was born in Lake, Mississippi August 22, 1920 to Thompson and Audrey Webb. He was a veteran of WWII and a retired special agent of the FBI.
He graduated from Hinds Junior College in Raymond, MS and the University of Arkansas Law School in Little Rock. He was admitted to the Arkansas Bar in 1948 and was licensed to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. During his 44 years with the FBI he successfully pursued Nazi sympathizers, KGB agents, organized crime figures, and anti-civil rights terrorists. After retiring from the bureau he worked for the Mississippi governor's office investigating fraud in federal-state programs.
He served as a deacon and Clerk of the Session in the Presbyterian Church and kept a close lifelong relationship with the Briar Hill Baptist Church in Monterey, Mississippi where he was raised.
His beloved daughter, Terrie, died in October of this year. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia, a sister, Mrs. Frances Shelton of Pearl, Mississippi, his son Tom, and a grand daughter, Sarah, of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 21, 2003 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM in Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville,AR.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 Monday, December 22, 2003 in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville with Pastor Norwood V. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
