Tommie "Joe" Hanson's Obituary
Tommie “Joe” Hanson, age 80, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 31, 2019. He was born on August 31, 1938, in Okemah, Oklahoma, to Lois Faye and Mirium Cecil (Combs) Hanson. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Cletta Stigney; and three brothers, Lewis Hanson, Ray Hanson and Leroy Hanson.
Tommie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He attended First Baptist Church of West Fork. He was also a dedicated employee and spent twenty-three years working in the oil fields in California.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vivian Hanson of the home; his daughter, Michelle Turner and husband Steven of Coffeyville, Kansas; two sisters, Carmelita Simpson and husband Louis, and Joyce Hanson, both of Bakersfield, California; three grandchildren, Cameron Turner, Cory Turner and wife Jordan, and Brionna Turner, all of Coffeyville, Kansas; two great-grandchildren, Blakely and Bishop Turner; one sister-in-law, Betty Hanson of Bakersfield, California; one aunt, Alois Ross of Okemah, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at First Baptist Church at 246 N. Centennial Avenue, West Fork, AR 72774. Interment to follow at a later date at West Fork Cemetery.
