Tracy Jean Lucero's Obituary
It is with great sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Tracy Jean Lucero (age 48) of Fayetteville, AR, from this life on July 31, 2021. She was born July 28, 1973, in McMinnville, TN to Mike and Caroline Burton.
Tracy was remarkably talented and brilliant, and committed her life to serving and helping others. After graduating from Pelham High School in AL, Tracy pursued her passion of science, like her mother, and received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Tennessee. She launched her career at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, CO and continued her career in Fayetteville at Washington Regional Hospital. She became a Lead Medical Technologist in Hematology at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville where she worked for 15 years. During her career she touched countless lives. She had a passion for supporting her colleagues and friends to advance their careers and dedicated much of her time to training and encouraging them. When it came to patient care, especially for veterans, she would stand her ground and defend what was right, fearlessly. She was greatly admired and the positive impact she made on many will last forever.
Tracy loved her family and friends. She was a proud mother, and those who knew Tracy, know how much she loved her daughter. Tracy had a unique sense of humor and enjoyed laughing with her loved ones. Tracy’s beauty, passion, love, and strength will be forever missed. Survivors are her daughter, Lexie Lucero; mother, Caroline Burton; sister, Michele Elmore; former spouse and father of Lexie, Sean Lucero; several nephews, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Her father, Mike Burton, preceded her in death.
