Vanessa Jean Swope's Obituary
Vanessa Jean Swope, 70, of Springdale, AR, departed this world on May 8, 2024. Born on July 17, 1953, in Pella, Iowa, to the late Junior Charles and Doris Finney Dykstra, Vanessa lived a life rich in love and service. Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Swope, Vanessa leaves behind a legacy of compassion and dedication.
A retired Elementary school teacher, Vanessa's passion for education extended far beyond the classroom. She was a devoted member of her bible study at Fellowship Bible Church and a tireless volunteer at Samaritan Community Center, embodying the spirit of kindness and generosity.
Vanessa found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was exploring the outdoors, pursuing her hobbies of cooking, sewing, and quilting, or cherishing moments with her family. Her commitment to her students was unwavering, and her quiet strength endeared her to all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Phillip, Kyle, and Marcus Swope, her sisters, June Franks and Elaine Terry, and her cherished grandchildren, Addison, Ryan, Taylor, Eli, Lincoln, and Birdie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Samaritan Community Center, 2910 South 8th. Street, Rogers, AR, 72758, a cause close to her heart.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Nelson Berna Funeral Home. Vanessa will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Nelson Berna Funeral Home 4520 North Crossover Drive in Fayetteville.
