Vesta Ellen Butler Morse's Obituary
Vesta Ellen Butler Morse, 89, our beloved wife, mother, granny, and aunt went home to be with her Lord on December 29, 2011, in Springdale, AR.
Vesta was born October 14, 1922 in Mulberry, AR to Joe Frank Butler and Mandy Armetta Young. She attended Zion Public School in Washington County, and married J.D. Morse in 1940. They celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary on December 28, 2011. Vesta was a dedicated housewife, mother, granny, a friend to all, and loved having people around her.
She was a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Springdale, AR, where many years were spent tirelessly working on their farm and raising her family. She enjoyed music, bingo, bowling, crafts, and traveling.
Vesta was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, five brothers, and many other loved ones. Survivors include her husband, J.D. Morse of the home; one son, David Morse and wife Diana of Springdale; three daughters, Louise Kirk of Alma, AR, Shirley Burke of Fayetteville, Pam McCratic and husband Robert of Springdale; four grandchildren, Darin Kirk, Jeremy Henshaw, Lichelle Burke, and Nathan Burke, and five great-grandkids, Austin, Mallory, Jaxson, Brieanna, and Brittany Burke and many nieces and nephews.
Services are 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 2, 2012, at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church, 1000 Gutensohn, Springdale, AR, with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery, Fayetteville, AR. Visitation will be Saturday, December 31, 2011, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, Fayetteville, AR.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR, 72762.
