Victoria Marie Vaught's Obituary
Victoria Marie Vaught, 17, of Fayetteville, passed away suddenly during a car accident in New Mexico on June 25, 2021.
Victoria was born on May 25, 2004, to Daniel Vaught and Lillian Hurtado in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Victoria attended Fayetteville High School and was set to graduate in 2022.
Victoria was passionate about math, Spanish, sociology, and theater. She was also passionate about archery and choir. Victoria was an honor roll student all throughout school and excelled at her schoolwork and in her classes. Victoria was most excited about choosing the college she would attend after high school - and all of her college acceptance letters are still piling up. While in school, she was also employed at Braum’s and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.
Victoria was also extremely passionate about reading, writing, photography, playing board games, and listening to music.
Victoria met her best friends, Will, Nick, and Ely at school and enjoyed spending time with them.
Victoria is survived by her father, Daniel Vaught, mother, Lillian Hurtado, grandfathers Edward Hurtado and Robert Tucker, grandmothers Hilda Hurtado and Dee Dee Tucker, great grandmother Donna Pepsin, uncles, Jason Hurtado, Dante Vaught, and CJ Watson, aunt Deanna Watson, cousins Briseus Hurtado, Keira Hurtado, Paige Watson, Emalyn Watson, and Noah Watson.
Victoria was joined in death by her Aunt Tina Hurtado and cousin Mariah Hurtado.
Victoria was preceded in death by her great grandfathers, Thomas Pepsin, Pedro Robledo, Socorro Hurtado, great grandmothers, Margarita Robledo and Lillian Hurtado, and cousin, Nick Hurtado.
There will be a viewing at Nelson-Berna funeral home in Fayetteville on Sunday, July 11th from 4-6 pm (with a rosary said at 5pm) The funeral will be held on Monday July 12th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fayetteville at 12 pm.
The family requests that all people attending wear a mask to prevent the spread of COVID 19. A “go fund me” account has been set up for donations to help the family. You can find it by searching “Help the Vaught Family”.
