Obituary
Virgil “Paul” Conger, 64, (he won’t like that everyone knows his age now) of Rogers, Arkansas passed away, Monday, February 5, 2018 in Tarapoto, Peru following a sudden illness. He always said he wanted to die in the pulpit; he was on a mission trip in Tarapoto doing what he loved.
He was born April 29, 1953 in Great Bend, Kansas and was preceded in death by his Godly parents, Virgil Lee Conger and Marjorie Forester Conger and a sister, Joy Conger Bronson.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cindy Norris Conger; one sister, Margie Lee Conger McKenna and her husband, Colin and one brother, John Mark Conger.
Paul was raised an Assembly of God preacher’s son, frequently moving around the country. He graduated from high school and claimed Jefferson, Oregon as his hometown, attending college nearby. He met Cindy when he went to spend one summer in Natoma, Kansas working for his uncle, George Crawford, in the oilfield. They were married and both worked corporate jobs until 1990 when Paul asked Cindy, “What would you think if I went into the ministry?” That question would take them on an amazing journey. First Love Ministries established in 1990, started humbly, with Paul sleeping many nights in his vehicle. But, God gave him vision and he obeyed with everything he had; preaching across the United States and in many countries, leading people to Jesus, his number 1 priority. He felt called to For mission work, especially in India, helping orphanages, many ministries and opening orphanages, saving hundreds of abused children. He went to Peru to build churches, a bible college to train ministers to fill the churches, and to help children. He was also involved in building churches and helping children in the Philippines, Africa and in all the world, meeting, helping, loving and working with the many people that he met. Making a multitude of deep relationships with people who love God, around the world; telling the best stories, and teaching everyone a card game, Hog.

Funeral services will be 10:30am, Thursday, February 15, 2018 at New Hope Assembly of God in Rogers. Services will also be held 10:30am, Saturday, 24, 2018 at the First Methodist Church in Natoma, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Natoma Cemetery.
