Virginia Esther Olsen's Obituary
Virginia Esther Olsen, age 94 of Goshen, AR passed away January 6, 2010 in Fayetteville. She was born on December 09, 1915 in Pontiac, MI and the oldest daughter of Fred and Clara (Spier) Fisher. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles A. Olsen in October 1996, her sister, Betty Jane Flewelling in November 2007, and her parents. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Mary Ann Olsen of Belton, MO and her two nephews.
Few years after her marriage to Charles in 1942, they moved to Farmington, MI, then later to West Bloomfield, MI where she served as a school secretary for 13 years. In 1975 they moved to NW Arkansas where they immensely enjoyed their retirement. She was an active member and a volunteer at Goshen United Methodist Church and its affiliated women’s group. Also she enjoyed her involvement with the Extension Club and NARTI. Crocheting, knitting, sewing, needlepointing, cooking, and baking were some of her talents. She made many friends and enjoyed socializing.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Goshen United Methodist Church.
