Virginia 'Ginny' Shackelford's Obituary
Virginia “Ginny” Shackelford, age 94, of Fayetteville passed away Friday May 8, 2015. She was born July 19, 1920 in Winslow, Arkansas to Spencer and Clyde Osburn Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Doyle Clay Shackelford. She was a longtime member of Mount Comfort Church of Christ in Fayetteville.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Shackelford of Elkins; one son, Butch Shackelford and his wife Holly of Fayetteville; brother, Bob Adams of Wyola, Arkansas; step brother, Ray Mills of Fayetteville; two sisters in law Lorene Adams of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Lola Mills of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Patrick Yerby and his wife Lisa, Spencer Jett Shackelford; great grandchildren, Mitchell Yerby, Jacquelyn Bunton and her husband Cody, Annabelle Yerby, Billy Yerby; four step great grandchildren, Tommy, Cassie, Alex and Sam Erickson.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday May 12, 2015 at Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Wednesday at Moore’s Chapel with burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville. Our lives will be slightly dimmer at the loss of Ginny's fiery personality, but we are forever grateful for the hospitality and warmth she so generously shared with us over the years.
