Vivian Joan Artman's Obituary
Vivian Joan Artman, age 87, of Rogers, AR passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025 in Rogers where she resided at Hampton Place Healthcare. She was born November 16, 1937 in West Fork, Arkansas, the daughter of Claud and Ruie Teague Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, John Artman; her parents, three brothers and four sisters.
She worked as a sales clerk at the House of Webster for many years. She had various duties, including waiting on customers in “the Barn”. Joan also worked several years as a cafeteria worker for Rogers Public Schools.
She is survived by her two sons Rick Artman (Cherlene) of Bois D’Arc, MO and Kevin Artman (Teresa) of Jane, MO; four grandchildren: Carmen (Artman) Ellis, Bryan Appleton, Josh Artman and Brittany Artman; four great grandchildren: Emma, Jaxon, Claire and Finn; and many nieces and nephews.
In her younger years, Joan enjoyed attending horse shows where her two sons showed horses and participated in timed events. She enjoyed shopping with her four sisters, and it was not unusual to later see them together wearing “matching tops”.
Joan loved to go on trips, whether they were only a few hours away or several days. She also enjoyed glamping with her family. She liked to attend music shows in Branson, Eureka Springs and Rogers, as well as the Senior Center in Springdale where she also enjoyed a pot-luck meal and playing games. She especially enjoyed game night with family members where they almost always played Pollyanna.
Joan was a great mother, mother-in-law and ma-ma. She will be missed, but we are at peace knowing she is no longer suffering.
A Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2025, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Rogers, with Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Rogers.
