W. E. “TED” DAVIDSON
W. E. “Ted” Davidson, 92, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Washington Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 10, 1919 in Black Rock, Arkansas, the son of Ed and Rosa Octavia Weir Davidson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Virginia Smith Davidson in 2009 and a son, James E. Davidson.
He was service manager at Jones Motor Company in Fayetteville, retiring after 39 years. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville where he also served as an usher. He was a volunteer for Masonic services at the V.A. Medical Center in Fayetteville and was poll supervisor at polling locations for 26 years. He was a Master Mason for 65 years, a member of UCT for many years and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He came to Northwest Arkansas by way of CCC Camp at Devils Den.
He is survived by a daughter, Frankie Smith of Fredericksburg, VA; two grandchildren, Maurice Smith and his wife Teresa and Melanie Yost and her husband Brian and two great-grandchildren, Emma Yost and Michelle Beck.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 3 at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
