Walter Barry Cox met Jesus face to face on September 12th, surrounded by his family in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born in Forrest City, Arkansas, on August 11, 1941. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edward Cox and Lav Read Obituary
I had the privilege of being on the opposite side of one very big and lengthy case where Walter was representing one of several defendants. Sometimes there is animosity and sometimes just indifference between lawyers who are on opposite sides of cases. Not so with Walter. I quickly grew to like and respect him very much during that case. I am saddened to learn of his passing. It is clear to me that the Arkansas trial bar has lost a giant. But getting to know him has made me also appreciate that, more than just being a special trial lawyer, Walter’s family has lost a very special loved one. My deepest sympathy goes out to his entire family. Scott McMillen
I litigated my first case against Walter. As a newly minted attorney, it was like walking into the eye of a hurricane. I always admired his professionalism. Make no mistake, he was a killer. However, he was also a genuinely nice man. My condolences to his family and friends.
During the short time I worked for Mr. Cox, I quickly learned how humble and kind he was. He was an exceptional man and will be missed by many.

Ashley cox Stone, your dad was top shelf in all regards. Hugs. Jeff Slaton
I want to express my sincere condolences to the family. Walter was always such a pleasure to work with. He was always so encouraging to me when I went into business for myself in 2009 and in the years since. In fact, in my last email exchange with him, he once again gave me a great compliment, which made me feel very special. I will miss seeing him.

Walter was one of the greatest men I have ever known. Genuine, considerate, calm, caring, integrity, intelligent, professional, compassionate, giving, charitable are just some of the adjectives describing Walter. He loved his family but most of all, he loved Christ! I will miss him dearly. Well done good and faithful servant!
Walter was a true legend. I was fortunate to watch and learn from him. We once were in Florida for depositions and I learned so much not just by watching him in action, which was incredible in its own right, but simply talking and listening to him on and in between flights and when we shared a few meals. It was truly an honor for me I will never forget. He is missed and his family is in my prayers. He immensely treasured you.
