Wanda Mae Mayfield's Obituary
Wanda Mae Mayfield, 77 of Springdale, AR went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 17, 2013 in Springdale, AR. She was born June 9, 1935 in Lamar, Missouri to Willard Fred “Pete” Walters and Lela Delores (Hagin) Walters.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She led her family and others with a servant’s heart. She was a retired secretary and a member of Cross Church in Springdale.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Donald Mayfield of nearly sixty years, two daughters; Debra Carroll of Springdale, AR, Susan Layman and husband David of Springdale, AR, one son; Shawn Mayfield and wife Montie of Springdale, AR, one sister; Sue Walters of Joplin, MO, twelve grandchildren; Jason Carroll, Brandon Carroll, Dustin Carroll, Denea Layman, Lindsey Layman, LeAnn Layman, Aaron Layman, Allison Layman, Stephen Layman, Dawson Layman, Emily Mayfield, Austin Mayfield, three great grandchildren; Tylor Carroll, Michael Carroll, and Brice Evan Carroll.
The family would like to thank Rosa Nava for the loving care she gave to Mrs. Mayfield and The Circle of Life Hospice staff for their compassionate care during Mrs. Mayfield’s last days.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 19th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 20th at Hunt Chapel 5930 West Wallis Road Rogers, AR with Reverend Brandon Carroll and Reverend Cliff Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens in Rogers, AR.
