Warren Lee McGinnis' Obituary
Warren “Mac” Lee McGinnis was born in 1927 in Concord, IL to Lee and Ada McGinnis. He was the youngest of six children and grew up on a farm and rode his beloved horse Topsy to school and plowed fields with Jenny his mule. He enlisted in the Navy during WWII as a teenager.
Warren and Marge Healey were married in 1947 and had six children in their home in Davenport. Marge McGinnis passed away at the age of 53. Warren married Patricia (Pat) Carrigan in 1980. Patricia passed away in 2014.
After Warren's retirement from Alcoa, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, attending social outings with friends, and visiting family.
Warren spent the majority of his final years at Senior Star Independent Living in Davenport, IA socializing with residents, walking the facility support dog, playing cards and defeating opponents at the pool table. He relocated to Fayetteville, AR to be near family in 2023..
Warren passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on Dec. 1, 2023. He is preceded in death by spouses Marge (Healey) McGinnis and Patricia (Carrigan) McGinnis, parents Lee and Ada McGinnis, son Daniel McGinnis, and son-in-law Stewart Abelbeck. He is survived by children Julie and Andy Feinstein of Fayetteville, AR; Jane McGinnis and Duane Shell of Albuquerque, NM; Connie Bieber and Mike Brooks of New Liberty, IA; Michelle Abelbeck of Grand Island, NE; and Melinda (Indigo) McGinnis of Arcata, CA. He is survived by eight grandchildren: Seth and Luke Goodman, Hannah and Austin Abelbeck, Phoebe and Forrest Carter, Noah Bieber, and Clarissa Bostelman. He is survived by six great-grandchildren.
