William A. Hammond's Obituary
WILLIAM A. HAMMOND
William A. Hammond, 77, of Fayetteville, died July 27, 2011 at his home.
He was born August 23, 1933 in Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
He was a retired truck driver and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He liked to work in the yard and watch John Wayne movies.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Hammond, to whom he was married November 11, 1960; two sons, Lonnie Hammond of Fayetteville and John Hammond and his wife Sasha of Bentonville; two daughters, Pauline Shafer of Locust Grove, OK and Natasha Hammond of Bentonville; a brother, Don Hammond of Farmington; two grandchildren and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, August 1 at Moore’s Chapel and private interment will be in the National Cemetery.
Officiating will be Pastor Don George.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm Sunday at Moore’s Chapel.
