William Ashley Bohning Jr.'s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Ashley Bohning, Jr., age 57, a devoted husband, father, brother, son, and friend, on February 22, 2025, peacefully at his home.
William was born on September 25th, 1967 to William Ashley Bohning, Sr. and Helen Patricia Gainey Bohning in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. William graduated from Ponchatoula High School. He went on to study at Southeastern Louisiana University and graduated with a degree in business and marketing.
William was a devoted father, always putting his family’s well-being and happiness first. His love and commitment to his family was unwavering. They were the cornerstone of his life. He loved his family and will leave a legacy of warmth, kindness, and laughter that will endure forever. His support lives on in the hearts of those he loved.
As a member of Fellowship Bible Church, William was a devoted follower of Christ; always praying, reading his Bible, and sharing God’s love wherever he went.
William served his community in real estate for many years, for the last several years he worked as an insurance agent helping his clients each day with life insurance and medical needs. William, known for his boundless energy and fierce determination, achieved the remarkable feat of completing an Ironman triathlon, a testament to his dedication and spirit. Whether on a bike, running a race, hiking, spending time in the outdoors or swimming in the open water, William embraced every challenge with a smile.
An avid lover of sports, William also had a deep passion for gardening, hunting, fishing, hiking, creating beautiful spaces where he found peace and joy. He was known for his love of Disney World, a place where he shared many cherished memories with his loved ones.
William is survived by his wife, Jamie, the love of his life, his mother Patricia, two sons Nicholas Matthew (wife Melissa and her daughter Reese) and Alex Christopher, his sister Susan (Dave), his brother Mike (Jenny), stepchildren Macey Jane and Luke Charboneau, nieces (Mike) Sadie and Marley, and other family.
William was preceded in death by his father, William Ashley Bohning, Sr., his paternal grandparents Chester F. Bohning and Winnie Davis Bohning, and his maternal grandparents Willie M. Gainey and Lillian Olivia Edmondston.
William’s fur baby, Dash, was a constant companion and a source of great joy. Their bond was a true reflection of his caring and compassionate nature.
William will be remembered for his incredible strength, his joyful spirit, and his ability to make everyone around him feel loved and special. He leaves behind an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A private family celebration of William’s life was held the Botanical Gardens in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
William’s legacy will live on through his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched.
Rest in peace, William. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
