William Malcolm Currie's Obituary
William Malcolm Currie, age 94, of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on April 27, 1931, Bill was the only child of Ira Rockford and Virginia Noreen Currie.
After graduating in 1948 from Albuquerque High School, Bill continued his education at the University of New Mexico. Along with his studies, Bill played basketball for the UNM Lobos, starting as center. He was also a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He graduated in 1953, earning his B.S. Sales and Marketing degree.
After graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force, serving as a Communications Officer from 1953 to 1956 in Tripoli, Libya, North Africa. Bill remained a proud veteran throughout his life.
Upon returning to the States, he married and had two children, Bruce Adam Currie and Laura Currie Nichols. He then started a 37-year career with Procter and Gamble in its packaged soap division, first in Santa Fe, NM, then to El Paso, TX, Tulsa Ok, and Fayetteville, AR, where he retired in 1992.
After widowing in 1979, Bill began working primarily in Arkansas, where, in 1983, he met his beloved wife of 40 years, Bimmy Siccardi. After a three-year romance, they married in Fayetteville, AR, on September 6, 1986.
As a couple, Bill and Bimmy, enjoyed traveling the world, supporting University of Arkansas sports, fishing, attending numerous local activities, playing bridge with friends and spending time with family.
Their combined family includes Bruce Currie, John Siccardi, Jodi Siccardi, Laura Nichols, Garry Siccardi, daughter-in-law, Aleatha Currie, son-in-law, Mike Nichols, and four grandsons and one granddaughter, Dawson Currie, Owen Tomlinson, Will Tomlinson, Hannah Siccardi, Zach Siccardi, and his wife Sydney Siccardi.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Garry.
Bill will be remembered for his compassion, kindness, smile, laughter, wit and love of family and friends.
Funeral services for Bill, will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, at Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Visitation is prior to services, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Washington County Animal Shelter, 801 W. Clydesdale Dr, Fayetteville, AR, 72701 in his name.
