William Dale Ridenour's Obituary
William “Dale” Ridenour, born on March 5th, 1950, in Bentonville, Arkansas, passed away in Rogers, Arkansas on July 30th, 2025 at the age of 75.
He was the son of Eileen (Searcy) and Gerald Irwin Ridenour Jr., though he was guided in life by his stepfather, Tom Burchell, who played a significant role throughout his life.
Dale was a graduate of Bentonville High School Class of 1968. Shortly after graduation, he served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Dale was a retired Rogers US Postal Service Carrier and took great pride in his job. After retirement he enjoyed travelling to the tropics with Marianne when not spending time together in the pool with their pups.
Dale is survived by his wife, Marianne; his daughter, Lisa Lee of Bella Vista, AR; his sister, Teresa Waggoner of Pea Ridge, AR; and his step-son, Brian Schmit of West Chester, OH. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Haylee (Rhett) Hall of Bella Vista, AR; Logan Schmit of Bentonville, AR; and Alyssa, Emily (Josh), and Carly Schmit of West Chester, OH. Dale left behind three great-grandsons: Braxton, Hudson, and Elliot.
He is also survived by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Jessica of Marion, IA; Cathy (Chip) of Marion, IA; Bob (Sue) of Caye Caulker, Belize; and Glen (Diana) of California. Dale had a close relationship with many nieces and nephews on Marianne’s side of the family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eileen Burchell; stepfather, Tom Burchell; father, Gerald Ridenour Jr.; step-son, Robert Schmit; and niece, Kelly Orndorff.
A service for Dale will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday August 7, 2025, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
