Willine Forrest Adair's Obituary
Willine Forrest Adair of Fayetteville, Arkansas died October 12, 2007. She was born in Searcy, Arkansas, January 21, 1911 to Rev. Edward Forrest, a Methodist Minister and Matilda Mason Forrest .
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Bill Adair, Sr. her sister Alma Forrest Chappelle, her stepmother, Minnie Webb Hook, and grandson Wm. "Bo" Adair. As the daughter of a Methodist minister, Willine lived in many places, including Searcy, Beebe, North Little Rock, Waldron, Heber Springs, and Prairie Grove where she graduated from high school. Willine attended Galloway College, which was later merged into Hendrix College where she met her husband, Bill Adair, Sr. of Fort Smith. The couple moved to Muskogee, OK where Bill was principal of the Oklahoma School for the Blind. Following the war, they returned to Ft. Smith where Bill partnered in the grocery business with his father. They moved to Fayetteville in 1948 where they lived out their lives. Willine was a accomplished bridge player, was active in PTA work, participated in the Methodist Church's WSCS (now UMW) loved ballroom dancing, solving cross-word puzzles, was an avid reader and was a member of Chapter S of her beloved PEO.
She is survived by her two sons, Bill Adair, Jr. and wife, Jenny of Little Rock; Dr. Edward F. Adair and wife, Marinell of Bentonville; three grandchildren, Dr. Robert E. Adair and wife, Kendra of Bentonville, Steven F. Adair and wife, Brittany of Fayetteville; and April F. Wessels and husband, Steve of Sioux Falls, S.D., and six great-grandchildren.
A family graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Gary Lunsford. A celebration-memorial service and reception will be held at Butterfield Trail Village, Monday October 15, 2007 at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family requests remembrances to Central United Methodist Church, Fayetteville or the HCC Alzheimers Unit of Butterfield Trail Village.
