Sonny Warford's Obituary
Sonny Warford, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday March 30, at 81 years old. He was born on April 22, 1942, in Crosses, Arkansas, to Byron and Lona Belle (Long) Warford.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Norman Warford and Dewey Warford, and sisters Lena Jo Hankins, Wilda Jean Kellar, Dolly Belle Black, Mildred Rose Roach, and Geraldine Coleman.
Sonny was a heavy equipment operator for most of his life, working for Tomlinson Asphalt Company for 45 years. He spent a lot of time deer and squirrel hunting, and fishing. He really enjoyed spending time hunting Morrel Mushrooms, which he called ‘Dry Land Fish’. Sonny was a great musician, and played electric guitar, a talent and loved passed down to his children and grandchildren, who continue his legacy still. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Sonny leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Ola Jean Warford; sons Willis Warford, Jr. & wife Pat, and Danny Warford & wife Julie Reana; daughter Rhonda Warford & Dustin Walters; grandchildren Isayah James Warford, Shelby Lynn Warford, Whitney LeAnn Potts, Benjamin Brett Warford, David Brandon Warford, Christopher Drew Thomas, and Zachary John Thomas; great grandchildren Kenneth Hughes, Kaiya Warford, Jetta Warford, and Beau Potts; brothers Dude Warford & wife Marilyn, and Johnny Warford, and many other family members friends, and loved ones.
A funeral service for Sonny will take place on Thursday, April 4, at 10:00 AM, at Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville, with burial to follow at McCord Cemetery.
