Wilma C. Jones' Obituary
Mrs. Wilma C. Jones, 91 of Tulsa, OK formerly of Fayetteville, AR passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2004 in Tulsa. She was born January 11, 1913 in Council Grove, KS to Edgar Gale and Myrtle Adelle Covey Cress. She moved to Fayetteville from Kansas in 1932. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker as well as a telephone and teletype operator at The Veterans Hospital for 24 years. She started her career at Southwestern Bell. She also was a Baptist, a member of the Order of Eastern Star University Chapter #495, Arkansas State Womens' Bowling Association for 45 years and held various state and local offices as well as active in the junior bowling program, and was past president of the Fayetteville Exchangettes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph in 1982.
She is survived by two daughters; Karolyn Davenport of Fayetteville, AR , Beckye Quackenbush of Tulsa, OK, three sisters; Myr Delle Leflar-Friedermann of Rogers, AR, Sara Larsen of Honolulu, HI, Nell Flint of Phoenix, AZ, two brothers; Bill Cress of Okay, OK, Robert R. Cress of Las Vegas, NV, two granddaughters; Felecia Wilson of Mena, AR, Kristin Crossman of Cumming, GA, three grandsons; Trevor Sammons of Tulsa, OK, Sean Davenport of Dallas, TX, Jonathan Davenport of Garland, TX, and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 5, 2004 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 6, 2004 in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville with Dr. Rod Goodsell officiating. Burial will follow at Farmington Cemetery in Farmington, AR.
Pallbearers will be Chris Crossman, Lyle Wilson, Trevor Sammons, Sean Davenport, and Jonathan Davenport.
