I'm the 13-year-old whom Wilma and Max took into their home. I didn't fully realize how brave that was for a young couple until I had teenagers of my own. Now, I find myself frequently wanting to email her about some feat or foible in my life. She never failed to give positive feedback. I can only hope to be so "with it" if I live to be 99 .
