Winifred (Win) Jagitsch's Obituary
Winifred (Win) Jagitsch of Springdale, 91, formerly of Harrison and Little Rock, passed away on May 28, 2015.
Win was born in Springfield, Illinois to William A. Crookston and Mildred (deFreitas) Crookston. She attended the Bette Stuart Institute and graduated from Springfield High School in 1941. In the fall of that year she enrolled in Springfield Junior College, where she met her future husband, Robert F. Jagitsch, Jr. After graduating from SJC she attended the University of Illinois, where she majored in journalism and went on to work in advertising.
Win and Bob were married on November 7, 1948 at Springfield’s Laurel Methodist Church. During their 64 year marriage they traveled widely due to the fact that Bob was in the Air Force (which Win loved!) including living in both Japan and Guam. Win enjoyed knitting, computing, emailing and texting messages to her children until her eyesight faded.
She truly loved and respected her husband, who predeceased her in 2012. Win is survived by her beloved dog Aggie, two daughters, Janet (Springdale, AR) and Diana (Fayetteville, AR) and two sons, Robert F. Jagitsch III (Austin, TX) and William (North Little, Rock, AR), sister Dorothy J. Andrews (Fayetteville, AR) and brother James E. Crookston (Maumelle, AR) five grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
A memorial Service will be held in Fayetteville, AR at the Fayetteville Seventh Day Adventist Church on Sunday, June 14th at 1:00 PM. Mrs. Jagitsch will be interred at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made in Win’s name to the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation.
