Winona Young's Obituary
Winona Young, age 64, of Fayetteville, died Monday, December 29, 2014 in Fayetteville. She was born February 20, 1950 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, the daughter of James Roy and Dollie Briscoe Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Don Parker and two step-sons, David Young and Steven Young.
She was a school teacher at Fayetteville High School and employed by the United States Postal Service.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Alvin Wesley Young; a sister, Mona Erickson of Fayetteville; three nieces, Tammy Parker Staley, Holly Parker Combee and Wynne Erickson Katzer; three nephews, Jimmy D. Parker, Will Erickson and Nick Erickson; five great-nieces; four great-nephews; two daughters-in-law, Jennifer Young and Anita Young; four granddaughters, Jeanette Young, Rachel Ake, Siobhan Davis and Katie McCratic and two grandsons, D. J. Young and James Young.
Visitation will be noon – 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2015 at Moore’s Chapel followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. at Moore’s Chapel. Burial will at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
