Anna Lorene West Maguire's Obituary
Anna Lorene West Maguire of Springdale, AR, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born on January 8, 1934, in Katy, Texas to Claude and Sadie West. About 1940, they moved to Hazel Valley, AR where she attended and graduated in 1952, from Elkins Schools. In 1953, following his discharge from the U.S. Navy, she married Jonny Luther Maguire. Upon Johns graduation from the University of Arkansas, they lived in Fort Smith before settling in Fayetteville. She was a founding member of Trinity Temple, and her faith was always central in her life. After Johns retirement from Tyson Foods, they moved to Ft. Worth, Texas where they lived until their return to Springdale in 1999. She loved cats, writing poetry and spoiling her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Carrol, a grandson, Travis Maguire and her husband, John. She is survived by her son, Dale (Marilyn) of Fayetteville, a daughter, Kathleen Meier of Tontitown, and a son, Brett (Kim) of Springdale, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Nelson Berna Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. also at Nelson Berna. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are preferred to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR, 72762.
