I trained with Tom at AIB International (it was American Institute of Baking back then in 1998) as a food safety auditor. He was the one who told me to send in a resume, even though the facility that I was working had failed the AIB inspection in a big way. I sent in the resume and was interviewed and hired and never looked back. I think about Tom every time I read an auditor's report and the auditor writes about cleaning cobwebs. I wrote that in a report he reviewed, and he asked me if the site should put the cobwebs back after they were clean! It was kind of a joke, but I never wrote that again (cobwebs should be removed or cleaned up!) and I have passed that bit of wisdom along for 38 years. I lived in Houston back then and saw a lot of Tom and Jacque because they lived in Arlington and I did some work in that area. They had some great stories about previous lives and the memorabilia they had on the walls. I am sorry that I have only seen this notice today. Rest in Peace, Tom and Jacque!
