Bernice Brunton's Obituary
Bernice M. Brunton died Wednesday, December 16th in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born January 26, 1917 to Irl and Margaret Baker near Ozawkie, Kansas, and lived there until 1942. Most of her life was lived in Raytown, Missouri where she completed 32 years of teaching in elementary grades in 1981.
She graduated from Ozawkie Rural High School in 1935 and from the University of Missouri in Kansas City in 1957. She was a member of Raytown Christian Church and an associate member of the First Christian Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was a member of Chapter K PEO Sisterhood.
Her husband of 59 years, Elton W. Brunton, preceded her in death May 1, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her only son, Dr. Ellis W. Brunton on July 5, 2009.
Survivors are a daughter-in-law, Dona Brunton, grandson, Patrick W. Brunton and wife Melissa and two great grandchildren, Jack Brunton and Avery Brunton, one sister, Dorothy Flott and husband Elgin Flott and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
