Betty Jean Fox's Obituary
Betty Jean Fox (78), most recently of Bentonville, Arkansas, was called home by Jesus on Monday, May 22, 2023, while at Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale, Arkansas, after a long battle with numerous health problems. Entering this world on November 4, 1944, in Adrian, Michigan, Betty was the second of six children born to Cecil and Esther (Hazzard) Tipton. She was preceded in death by her parents, younger sister Joan (Tipton) Conklin, and beloved daughter Kristina.
Betty spent the first part of her life attending church at the United Brethren Church in Adrian, Michigan. She enjoyed school and had fond memories of visiting family in Tennessee, vacationing in Florida, helping at her aunt's local store, and trying to keep her three brothers in line. Married in 1964 and eventually having three children, the family traded in their northern small-town roots for a southern small town by moving to beautiful Mountain Home, Arkansas, in 1977.
Being away from family was tough and having a young daughter with special needs required a lot of work, but Betty worked tirelessly for her family and relied on the Lord for her strength. She was a homemaker, but much more than that was a loving mother and grandmother. Betty cherished her family deeply and instilled in them the values of faith and love. She faithfully prayed for her children and grandchildren. Her legacy as a prayer warrior will continue to inspire her family for generations to come.
As a devoted member of Twin Lakes Baptist Church in Mountain Home, Betty actively served as a children's Sunday school teacher. She found great joy, in sharing the love of Christ with her family, friends, children in her Sunday school class, and members of the church. Her love for Jesus was often reflected in her giving and compassionate heart for those in need.
Later in life, Betty resided in Cabot, Arkansas, where she still enjoyed cooking, flowers, music, laughter, and spending time with her grandkids. Always known for her smile and spunky spirit, she continued to take care of others until her health no longer allowed her too. She stayed strong in the Lord till the very end and her work was completed.
She fully believed God's promises and has finally found eternal rest in the loving embrace of our Savior. We grieve her physical absence but find comfort in the assurance that she is now reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.
Betty is survived by her two children, Jennifer (Ed) Winant of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Greg (Jennifer) Fox of Carrollton, Texas; eight grandchildren Nathan Fox, Chloe Fox, Emily Winant, Kirk Fox, Ethan Winant, Eli Winant, Bethany Fox, and Edward Winant. She is also survived by siblings Jim Tipton, John Tipton, Helen Tipton, and Bob Tipton.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, Rogers, Arkansas. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. with funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Pak, North Little Rock, Arkansas, Wednesday, May 31, 2023, 3:00 p.m.
