Dear Hannah Family,

My mother, Louise Holland, thought Betty was just about the best friend any one could have. She loved her so much and over the years in Sunday School appreciated her knowledge of scripture, her devotion to Jesus and her love for all who crossed her path in life. I know there is rejoicing in Heaven as she joins her MANY friends who arrived before she did. My mom lived to age 97.

God bless you all in this time of loss and rejoicing - the feelings are mixed but as my dad, Alsey, would say - the Victory's in Jesus!

Betty was a delightful lady who loved Jesus and others with passion. It was my joy to know both Betty and Warren as members of UBC's Merry Hearts in the early 90s. I had the privilege of leading that group in addition to my responsibilities as Worship Pastor. She and my mother, Mary Jane Bedford were very close. Betty and Mary Jane were similar in personality--when they entered a room they "lit it up" with their smile.

She was a precious member of University Baptist Church playing the piano for all kinds of events. Her awesome recipes for the many fellowships and luncheons and her sweet laugh that she would let come out now and then when we amused her. She is loved and leaves a warm place in our hearts. After knowing Betty as a mother of one of my school friends, I got to know her later when she was President of the volunteers at WRMC. I got to know one of the sweetest people who cared so much for the hospital and patient welfare. As Chief of Staff and later a long time board member I enjoyed working with her through her devotion to caring for others. I am saddened by her loss and offer my condolences to her family and all who were touched by the warm reassuring smile of Betty. She made Fayetteville a better place.
