Bettye Reese, age 87, of Springdale, died Friday, August 29, 2014 in Fayetteville. She was born July 17, 1927 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the daughter of Virgil A. and Myrtle Lockhart Cosby. She was preceded in death by her husband Read Obituary
I have fond memories of visiting with Bette in Prairie Grove at Crescents. Such a sweet lady. So very for your loss.

Ron and Dick, I'm so sorry for the loss of your dear mother. Although we've never met, your mom and I were first cousins, twice removed. Another of our "Cosby cousins" just made me aware of your mother's passing this morning. As a child, I don't think I ever knew we were kin, but I've such fond memories running up and down the stairs to her basement store in the old Cambell-Bell building. It remains a mystery how I never skinned my knees or worse. I had the honor of being one of Bettye's Nurse's. She was a sweet and dear lady. She always had a beautiful smile. Heaven has definitely gained an Angel. Thoughts and prayers for the family.

August 31, 2014Some of my fondest childhood memories are the time I spent with Uncle Jim and Aunt Bettye Reese. My family spent a summer in Fayetteville when I was 10 or 11 years old. The great times fishing with Uncle Jim and evenings with Jim and Bettye at their home are vivid and happy memories for me. The following summer Jim and Bettye invited me back alone for a 2 week visit. I rode a bus from Jackson, TN and it made another great summer of memories for me. There were other visits in the 80's when I was traveling on business. But, I will never forget the hospitality and great times Uncle Jim and Aunt Bettye gave me as very young lad. They both were wonderful and spirited human beings and I am very thankful to have known them.John Rukavina
