Cecil French England's Obituary
Mr. Cecil French England, 79 of Fayetteville, AR passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2004 in Denver, CO. He was born August 1, 1925 in Pharr, TX to Ray and Goldie (French) England.
Cecil moved to Northwest Arkansas as a child and attended Springdale Schools. He then was in the Merchant Marines during World War II. After his discharge from the service he moved back to Fayetteville where he married M. Anne Sanders. After traveling together for a few years as an electrician, they moved back to Fayetteville and established Shenandoah Electric, which they owned for 31 years. Cecil loved sailing, pottery, making jewelry, castings, and any project to work with his hands.
He was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Fayetteville where he served as property chairman, deacon, and elder.
Cecil was a wonderful and compassionate man that will truly be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Anne England, two sons, Daniel England and wife Jenny of McAlester, OK, Jeff England and wife Haven of Little Rock, AR, one daughter, Cecily Brawner and husband Kim of Fayetteville, AR, two brothers, Ray England and wife Ida of Fayetteville, AR, Gene England and wife Shirley of Tulsa, OK, one sister, Marie Baker 0f Gilroy, CA, one sister-in-law, Audrey Harris of Tampa, FL, eight grand children, Todd, Derek, Hallie, Blake and Catherine England, Jacob Kaine, Taylor and Connor Schuman, also many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2004 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM with the family present to greet friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 25, 2004 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Dr. Robert K. Schomp officiating. Burial will follow at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Smith, Max Ryan, Joe Canfield, Bob Wardlow, Neil Danner, and Marion Crider.
