Charles "Lee" Anderson's Obituary
Charles "Lee" Anderson, 93, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024. He lived a full, prosperous life with so much to offer the world. "Lee" was born in Washburn, Wisconsin on November 30, 1930. He was the second born of three sons, (Ralph and Tinker) to Harold and Loretta "Honey" Anderson. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Mary Lou Sell in Washington, DC on October 20th, 1951, and they had two children, Scott and Carrie. Lee also leaves two grandsons, Clint (Nicole) and Travis Albright; and a great-granddaughter, Raven.
"Lee" graduated from Washburn High School in 1948. His college education was interrupted by a four-year enlistment in the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged in October 1954. In 1957 he graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He loved making things work well and made a career of it!
He was employed by Minneapolis based Cargill Incorporated for 37 years, during which time he held a variety of technical and managerial positions. His work required extensive travel to many parts of the world.
After a fun and successful career, the adventure of retirement came, and Charles and Mary Lou settled in Rogers, Arkansas and Panama City Beach, Florida where they played a ton of golf and enjoyed going out to the club and traveling with friends.
Charles held many positions in many outside organizations. Among which were, National Broiler Council, American Society of Industrial Engineering, American Management Association, National Turkey Federation, American Feed Manufacturers Association, Arkansas Poultry Federation, Elks, VFW, American Legion. He loved being part of the solution and as he would say, "Every problem has an answer."
He was most proud of his 73 years of marriage to Mary Lou whom he loved more than life. They made a super team and spent many great times with friends, colleagues and family. They fell in love as teenagers and remained in love until they passed, 6 days apart!
Long, wonderful, and rewarding life well lived! We love ya, Charlie!
