Charlie Joy Jordan's Obituary
Charlie Joy Jordan, age 67, of Springdale, entered into heaven on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. He was born August 6, 1946 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the son of Joy and Lillie Johnson Jordan.
As a young boy he always wanted to be a firefighter. He retired in 1995 after 25 years with the Fayetteville Fire Department. Charlie loved all animals, especially dogs. He loved going to Branson and the scrap yard. He was drafted in 1964 by the St. Louis Cardinals and was a lifelong fan of the Cardinals. He was of the Christian faith. The family wants to give a special thanks to Highlands Oncology, Dr. Eric Schaefer and the nurses and the staff at Highlands Radiation Oncology, Dr. Arnold Smith (especially Cameron Little) also Dr. Stan Bradley and staff at Willard Walker Hospice Home.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Jordan; three daughters, Amber Steele and her husband Chris of Lavaca, April Robinson of Fayetteville and Cheryl Woolsey of Lincoln; a son, Jeff Jordan and his wife Raelene of Centerton; a step-daughter, Leigh Kate Ochieng and her husband Gordon of Fayetteville; a sister, Diane Thomas of Prairie Grove; a brother, Mark Jordan and his wife Sandy of Fayetteville, eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will held 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2014 at Moore’s Chapel, followed by a funeral at 2:00 p.m. at Moore’s Chapel. Burial will be in Campbell Cemetery at West Fork.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels in Springdale and Hope Cancer Resources.
