Daniel L. Davies' Obituary
Daniel L. Davies, 83, of Bentonville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, following a recent decline related to vascular dementia.
Dan was born on November 25, 1942, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Marvin and Arline (Tibbetts) Davies. He served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965, with assignments in Italy and Greenland. After his military service, he graduated from the University of Tulsa and began his career with Arthur Young, serving clients throughout Oklahoma and Arkansas.
In 1975, Dan moved to Northwest Arkansas to join Walmart, where he enjoyed a 17-year career as Assistant Controller over General Accounting. It was there that he met Ruby, his loving wife and best friend of 50 years. After a few years of living in Rogers, they settled just outside Bentonville, where Dan fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning a farm. During his retirement, he spent most days outdoors, tending the cattle and property he loved, or playing golf with many cherished friends. Dan also spent several years volunteering for the food bank at Samaritan Community Center.
Dan attended Fellowship Bible Church and had a deep, abiding belief in God. He enjoyed listening to music of all kinds, but especially enjoyed the gospel music, country western music and showtunes of his youth.
Dan was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Davies; his son, Scott Davies (Tairyn) of Bentonville, Arkansas; his daughter, Julie Davies (Wes) of Los Altos Hills, California; grandchildren Myriah Naegele (Andrew), Connor, Jordan and Katie Davies, and Allegra and Dylan Spowhn; three great-grandchildren; his sister, Sandra Mueller (Scott) of Mesa, Arizona; his brother, Kenny Davies (Donna) of Gilbert, Arizona; and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Dan will be remembered for his practical wisdom, quiet sense of humor, strong work ethic, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Dan’s family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Circle of Life team for the compassionate care and support they provided to Dan and his family during his final weeks.
Private memorial services will be held for the family in the coming days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Circle of Life or Samaritan Community Center.
