Ì enjoyed being allowed to "Hang around" the shop, as a younger kid, back in the 1970's. My Granddad, Edgar Etter, was a diesel mechanic and worked for Dave Covington, who he referred to as one of his good friends. Dave and Joann were always very nice to me. Two other guys who worked for Dave....a guy who went by R.W. and a blond-haired guy named Leo and drove an old Ford pickup that he called the gray ghost. A guy named Charles used the dozer, for dirt work..
The summer of 1977 was hot and humid, and I was 14 years old and was allowed to spend days "helping" as they put up a new shop building, just North of the old shop building. I think they wanted it to be a tool rental place. I talked with Eric and Janine, sometimes, too. Lots of memories..Ed Engel (Eddie)
