David Charles Frye's Obituary
David Charles Frye, 78, of Rogers, Arkansas, stepped into eternity peacefully while holding the hand of the love of his life, Sharon, and being surrounded by family and friends at Washington Regional Hospital on March 13, 2025. He was born on December 16, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Charles “Chuck” M. Frye and Doris M. (Lothman) Frye.
David leaves behind his wife of 49 years and 11 months, Sharon Kay Frye. Four daughters who were his pride and joy: Tauna Gist and her husband, Darien, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, along with their children, Heath and Dylan Gist; Andrea Smith of Houston, Texas, along with her children, Justin and Ashley Smith; Carmen Rothlisberger and her husband, Phillip, of Rogers, Arkansas, along with their children, Zoe and Alexa Rothlisberger; and Katie Stone and her husband, Damon, of Johnson, Arkansas, along with their children, Madison, Kadence, and Elizabeth. He also leaves behind 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles M. and Doris M. Frye of Tulsa, Oklahoma and also his brother Stephen R. Frye of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Survived by his brother Ron J. Frye of Madison, Wisconsin.
David is a graduate of Oklahoma State University. After graduating he served in the United States Army in active duty as well as the reserves. His career included years with Douglas Walker Accounting firm before stepping out as a partner at Carroll Taylor & Frye which became Beall Barclay & Co., and concluded his career with 25 years at Rausch Coleman Homes working as the CFO and retiring as Vice-Chairman.
David was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with the love of his life, Sharon, children, and grandchildren. He loved to travel, loved to spend time outdoors, and he loved to do taxes. He was devoted to his work and loved his co-workers like family. He was also devoted to Cross Church.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Cross Church Pinnacle Hills in Rogers, Arkansas, with Funeral Service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens with Military Honors under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Rogers. The family would appreciate memorial donations to be made to Cross Church Ministries.
David’s life was a testament to his love and devotion to his family, friends and faith. His character and actions displayed his faith and belief of his Lord Jesus Christ. With everyone he encountered, he spoke to them with encouragement and value. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those he touched.
