I had the privilege of meeting Dorothy when she came to Seattle a few years ago to see Daniel and Joel. I was charmed by her lively personality, and how interested she was in seeing the sights and talking with her sons and their friends. Joel, Daniel, and Stephen, you are all in my prayers as I remember your lovely mom. I know she must have been very proud of all of you.
To think of all the changes that Dorothy was fortunate to witness in her 89 years is quite remarkable. Could she ever had imaged that friends and family would be posting their fond memories of her life on the web site of the funeral home? My most vivid memory of Dorothy was when she arrived in Seattle after her first plane trip ever (and post 9/11): Everyone was asking her how it was to fly for the first time at about 85 years old. She commented disappointedly that the experience was rather dull. Too bad she did not have a chance to fly again. My deepest sympathy to Joel, Daniel and Steven, three great sons that Dorothy had the pleasure of seeing all grow into very unique and caring adults.
I remember so well the fun time we had visiting Dorothy in 1997. It had been years since any of us had visited with Dorothy. My mother, Betty, my aunt, Jean, and my sister, Linda and I spent time with Dorothy and Stephen. And Dorothy played the piano for us and we had dinner. A lovely day. We have wonderful photos of the occasion.
Manny and I will be thinking of you, Daniel, Stephen, and Joel, during these next few days.
