Dorothy Eugenia Waite Sparler's Obituary
Dorothy Eugenia Waite Sparler, 89, of Fayetteville, AR died Sunday, September 12, 2004 in Fayetteville, AR. She was born September 1, 1915 in Chattanooga, TN to H. Carl and Stella Eugenia (Shaw) Waite.
She married Herbert Sparler in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1994. Prior to marriage she was an avid traveler and by the age of 25 had visited all 48 states, Canada, Mexico and Cuba. She was a dedicated amateur painter and lover of music and flowers. In addition to being a homemaker Dorothy was very active in a number of churches as the wife of a minister, as a pianist and more recently as a Sunday School teacher for children. For the last several years she was an active member of the Stony Valley Home Extension Club, where she served as scripture leader.
She is survived by three sons, Joel and Daniel Sparler of Seattle, WA, and Stephen Sparler of Fayetteville, AR.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 14, 2004 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 15, 2004 in the chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, AR.
Memorials may be made to the Seven Hills Homeless Shelter.
