Douglas Family,
It is with great sorrow Lisa and I receive the news of your father’s passing. There are no words we can offer to lessen the deep sense of sadness and loss each of you are feeling now.
Doug was such a “larger than life” personality for both Lisa and I during any of our visits to Fayetteville. Being two displaced Mountaineers from West Virginia and no family in any direction for a thousand miles, Doug and Jeannie graciously welcomed us into their home any time we came to visit and more importantly, treated us as family. Each trip was an adventure unto itself with many laughs and memories and when it was time to leave, Lisa and I always departed with the a sense of “family” in our hearts thanks to Doug and Jeannie.
To borrow a line from a movie, “the true measure of a man is not how much he loves but by how much he is loved by others.” Doug touched many lives during his too short a journey on God’s earth but each of you may take comfort in the positive and caring way Doug touched those lives and from the many who now mourn his passing.
With our deepest sympathies,
Grant and Lisa
With my condolences to Doug's family.

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. I have so many happy memories of times at the Douglas home while growing up on Joe Fred Starr Road. May God's peace be with the family in this time.
We will miss him! Blessing upon the family!
