Doug Douglas' Obituary
Doug Douglas, age 73, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in Fayetteville.
He was born February 28, 1938 in Fayetteville, the son of Hal C. and Helen Fulbright Douglas.
He attended the University of Arkansas where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was a member of the Fayetteville Country Club where the Doug Douglas Cup Golf Tournament was held every July 4th.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville where he also served as an usher for 30 years.
The family appreciates the kindness shown by the staff of Katherine’s Place and Washington Regional Hospice.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Douglas; two sons, Hal Douglas and his wife Shauna of Rogers, AR and Kenneth Douglas and his wife Sharon of Bradenton, FL; two daughters, Deborah Hogue and her husband Greg of Chicago, IL and Demaris Dunsworth and her husband Jeff of Austin, TX; a sister, Ann Kelly and her husband Frank of Springdale, AR; a niece, Kimberly Kelly; a nephew, Kenny Kelly; seven grandchildren, Chelsea, Sydney Grace, Alessandra, London, Cole, Hallie and Avery.
Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday November 20, 2011 at Moore’s Chapel.
Cremation arrangements are by Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Sweetser, Lynn Wade, Hot Johnson, Hayden McIlroy, Butch Robertson, Herman Tuck, Thomas McNair, Frank Grammer, Jim Hornibrook, Gary Lunsford, R. H. Sikes, Glen Sowder and Gene Lancaster.
