Reverend Joe D. Starr's Obituary
Reverend Joe. D. Starr, 55 of Farmington was called home to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 17, 2008 in Fayetteville. He was born June 16, 1952 in Fayetteville, AR to Earl Floyd Starr and Dorothy Lucille (Davis) Starr.
Reverend Starr is the founder and was the full time Pastor of New Hope Full Gospel Church in Farmington. He was a great man of God. He loved the Lord with everything he had. His main goal was to tell as many people about the Lord Jesus and to lead as many people that he could to the Lord Jesus, which is our Savior...Jesus and the Reverends family were the two most important things in his life. His main and all time favorite subject was Jesus. Reverend Starr could and would talk about Jesus all the day long. It didn?t matter if at the store or wherever he was, he was going to tell you about Jesus, and the wonderful Savior he is.
Reverend Starr and his wife met in 1973 and married in 1975. They have one daughter and one granddaughter. His family meant everything to him. He was a loving husband, dad, papa bear (grandpa) and brother. He had a great sense of humor. He loved being around people laughing and having fun. If he couldn't get you to laughing, no one could. He had friends and made friends everywhere he went. The reverend has been a resident of Farmington for 20 years.
Before becoming a minister Reverend Starr was one of the very best transmission rebuilders around. He worked with AAMCO for many years and Fayetteville Transmissions. Before that he painted signs for business owners all over Fayetteville and Springdale, and even around the Fayetteville Square, some of which are still there. Before his illness, he spent a lot of time gardening. He raised a few cows for fun, and lots of other little critters. He loved the outdoors. He spent a lot of time in the deer woods. He loved to hunt, camp and fish. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He loved greatly and he was greatly loved. He thanks God for this life, family he was given, and for eternal life he is now living. Through all the good and bad, he always gave God honor, Praise and Glory. Rev. Joe D. Starr is not dead, He Lives! He always said The Lord has been good to me, Hallelujah! (Praise God).We know that we did not lose him. We know exactly where he is. He is with our Heavenly Father and we will see him again soon.
He is survived by his wife Donna Starr of 33 years of the home. One daughter, Melissa Hernandez of Springdale, AR and one granddaughter, Cadence Jacoby of the home. Three brothers and sister-n-laws.
