Miss Edith was a very dear, sweet lady and I am so happy I got to know her and hear of some of her travels. I wish there were more like her in our world today. She was a true Lady in every sense of the word and she will be missed.
Just some memories from Jac and Jill, two of your nieces. When our parents John and Joan Worthley moved from Adelaide to England in 1960, Jac and I initially lived with Auntie Edith and Uncle Max in Anerley whilst our parents were sorting out a family house for us. Thank you for all the good things you did for us...you looked after us and made us very welcome, including giving up your double bed for us! After that we lived nearby for several years and had many family fun times together.I, Jill, particularly remember how when I was studying for my Grade 8 piano exam, Auntie Edith gave me one lesson on a Debussy Prelude. Thank you dear Auntie Edith ... I felt I learned more from you in one lesson than I ever had from other teachers! You were a brilliant teacher and pianist.I, Jac, remember when you took us to see The Nutcracker ballet in London one Christmas. This was an amazing, never to be forgotten treat for the four Worthley children. Dear Auntie Edith we celebrate your life; all you were and all you did.Love Jac and Jill
