Edith Ellen Worthley's Obituary
Edith Ellen Worthley died at the age of 97 at Fayetteville, Arkansas on Tuesday, November 18, 2014.
She was born June 22, 1917 to Edith and Herbert French at Christchurch, New Zealand.
She was a piano teacher and church organist, a Fellow of Trinity College of Music, London and Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music, London, England and a Bachelor of Music of the University of New Zealand.
In 1953 she married Maxwell Worthley and they lived in South Australia, Germany and London, England before coming to Fayetteville in 1967 where Max was Professor of Voice and Opera at the University of Arkansas.
Edith was a member of Rolling Hills Baptist Church, Membership Secretary of Fayetteville City Hospital for 20 years and a member of Fayetteville Garden Club since 1986.
She is survived by her brother, Raymond French of Christchurch, New Zealand; four nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
Cremation by Nelson-Berna of Fayetteville. Private burial at Fairview.
Memorial Service will held 1:00 PM Monday November 24, 2014 at Rolling Hills Baptist Church.
