lElma has been a special friend of mine since I first met her when I was asked to bowl as a sub on a team (Tom's Peanuts) at Ozark Lanes in the fall of 1961 and ended up being on the team as a member along with Wanda Loman, Joan Johnson, and Mary Conrad. We had so much fun bowling every Monday night, bowling in city tournaments, state, and national tournaments all over the country with the first one being in Memphis in 1953 where our team was scheduled to bowl at midnight. Elma was the best bowler so she was always our "anchor" person. She also was a "coach" for the rest of us when we "were not on our game." I have a picture of her, Joan, and I in the red bowling shirts we wore when bowling in Florida and what fun we all had taking in Disneyworld.. Even after she stopped bowling, I have stayed in touch with her from time to time. I am reminded that "it's the friends we meet along the way that make this journey in life so special." Elma Carter was one of those friends and I consider her friendship as a special one. I shall forever remember her. (Marjorie Niblock)
