Ethel Pauline Hanning's Obituary
Mrs. Ethel Pauline "Polly" or "MAMAW" Hanning, 91 of Fayetteville, AR passed from this life on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, AR. Mrs. Hanning was born December 7, 1914 in Van Buren, AR to Cornelius and Nancy (Hicks) James. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.G. "Thell" Hanning and their only child, a son, David Lee Hanning
Pauline and her husband, Thell were managers of Sterling Store in Brinkley, Prescott, Searcy, and Benton, AR, and retired in Benton after 53 years of employment with Sterlings. In 1995, Mrs. Hanning moved to Fayetteville, AR where she was a member University Baptist Church. She enjoyed living at Arkanshire and the Weddington Place Sr. Apartments. She especially loved going to the Fayetteville Senior Citizens Center every day to eat lunch and visit with friends there. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a special lady to everyone that knew her.
Cherishing her memory are her granddaughters: Leigh Hanning Ellis of Fayetteville, AR, Julia Hanning of Benton, AR, her grandsons: John David Hanning of Brooklyn, New York, James Douglas Hanning of Fayetteville, AR, and her great grandchildren: McKenzi and Reagan Ellis of Fayetteville, AR, Tony, Logan, Autumn, Corbin, and Carson Hanning of Texarkana, AR survive her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 23, 2006 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
Graveside funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, AR.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fayetteville Senior Center 945 South College Fayetteville, AR 72701
