We loved Hal! No matter how much time had passed between conversations or in person meet ups we picked up easily, as if no time at all had passed. I met Hal in Boulder in 1972. He was soulful and easy going, smart and witty. We had a connection that continued after I moved to Houston in 1976. He and David, my husband, became instant friends and Hal visited us in Houston and we visited him in Fayetteville. Oh, those crazy days! This photo is from our last in person meet up in Feb 2020 in Sarasota. We planned on visiting him in Fayetteville this fall. Now we will visit in our dreams. Until we meet again, dear Hal 😘

in honor of Harold "Hal".

I have many fond memories of Hal, so I will try to mention two or three. There are more than just "one fondest memory" though.
I remember when Hal would sometimes bring his guitar and sit in with Skip and me on a gig at Jose's.
I remember one stormy spring afternoon when Hal brought his synthesizer over to my house, and we would lay down tracks on my old analog multi-track setup - when a storm started moving through, we would would shut everything down and unplug it, and then start back when the storm had passed. I remember seeing a beautiful rainbow at one point.
I remember another time when Hal got with me and Mike Owings, at my house.
All of those gatherings contained epic moments - never to be forgotten.
Hal was a "one-of-a-kind" dear friend, that I - like all of his other friends - will never forget.
R.I.P. Good Buddy. We all love you, and we will certainly miss you!
