Hugh was a mentor in so many ways. He was a seasoned elder when I came onboard, and also a fellow engineer not just by training but in his curious mind. He treasured his neighbor (known or unknown), his God, and His word. He and Elaine were always the first to receive someone in whatever situation. His crown is full of those whom he touched. He will be greatly missed.
I am deeply grateful for the gift of lifelong friendship. Mr. Hugh was exceptional in so many ways, and his kindness and presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. The Gainey family has always meant so much to ours, and that bond will never fade. Wishing peace, comfort, and strength to all of the Gaineys during this time. Mr. Hugh will be remembered with great love and respect.
