Jackie D. Knox, 76 of Fayetteville died Monday, January 27, 2014 in Fayetteville. He was born March 10, 1937 in LaRue, Arkansas the son of Rev. Horace M. Knox and Mary Belle Pittillo Knox. He married the former Betty Putman on No Read Obituary
Jackie was a dear friend from high school. He delighted in finding something funny about almost anything.I haven't seen him in 49 years but the twinkle in his eyes are the same in his photo now as it was in 1955. i'll still miss him. A very rare man.

Unfortunately our paths separated and I regret our losing touch, but that in no way reduces the loss that I feel.I'm sure you have many good memories from his years of service to our great Nation. I extend my deepest personal condolences to Betty and Jeff during this season of sadness. I personally share your sense of loss. For the many years that I was privileged (actually blessed) to know Jack I considered him a dear personal friend and comrade. I always looked forward to spending time with him and certainly appreciated his rather unique sense of humor. Jack was truly “one-of-a-kind” and a real credit to his chosen profession. Countless times I have witnessed his willingness to sacrifice his own time to help someone who was down on their luck or who were facing a particularly trying time in their life. I honestly don't think there was a pretentious bone in Jack's body. His humility was one of the attractions of his personality. I shall surely miss Jack and will anticipate rejoining him on that distant shore that awaits us in the not so distant future. Betty, I know that Jack loved you and Jeff, he was so proud of you.
